Autumn learning
Autumn is a wonderful season for outdoor learning experiences. The changing colour of the autumn leaves is a great opportunity for exploring science, art and literacy with young children.
This month we have encouraged the children to look carefully at leaves, discovering their different shapes. Can they find out which trees they come from? Do all trees lose their leaves? We have also identified different autumn colours, and tried mixing paints indoors to match them. We have used the leaves gathered to make leaf-print paintings and table decorations.
Making a den, making shapes with natural resources, collecting leaves, jumping in puddles, punching holes, team work, outdoor numeracy, painting leaves and more…
Have a look through some of our many pictures and see the outdoor learning experiences our children have enjoyed this month.
Our nurseries are only minutes apart from each other and just a short drive from Douglas town centre, which makes drop offs much easier, avoiding the main hustle and bustle of town. We provide professional care for children from 9 months to 5 years.
